Glass

Making glass uses a lot of energy, mainly in melting furnaces at temperatures between 1500 °C and 1700°C. These furnaces run on natural gas, fuel oil, or electricity and melt raw materials into glass. Recovering the waste heat from these furnaces is valuable for producing steam for power plants.
